Cory BryantWelcome to my ePortfolio!
I am a Child Welfare Trainer and provide training and technical assistance to professionals who work in the child maltreatment field. I have been working in this capacity for a year but have over 20 years of experience working with children and families in the child welfare system. For fun, I like to run and swim. I love to stay active and truly enjoy the beauty of running trails with my puppies. I have two adult children; I know…don’t look old enough right? :) And a third I inherited when one of my children married. I am proud of all three as they have grown into good people. |
My Mission |
I believe my noble purpose to be: To give what I have to create safety, peace and happiness for at risk children and families. I strive to live this daily.

My History |
Before becoming a trainer with UAA Child Welfare Academy, I lead and developed programs at Providence Health and Services, Alaska CARES, the Child Advocacy Center in Anchorage, which evaluates approximately 900 children each year for allegations of child maltreatment. During my work at Alaska CARES the program was awarded the Mission Leadership Award for the Providence Health System. This award was given to the program that lives out the mission and core values of Providence: serving the poor and vulnerable through the values compassion, respect, justice, excellence and stewardship. I was honored to lead this program to this award.
In 2011, I was fortunate to receive training through the Teleos Leadership Institute and have become a Leadership Coach. I am providing leadership coaching to leaders who work in child welfare system in Alaska and have experience coaching leaders in the health care industry. I received a Master of Social Work Degree in 1990 and have since spent my professional career living out my passion for helping children and families who are effected by abuse and neglect. |
